David is our Osteopath and he treats people of all ages using a combination of mobilisation, stretching, targeted deep tissue massage and manipulation of the muscles and joints to improve function, relieve pain and allow the body’s self-healing mechanisms to work effectively. David will take the time to understand you, and your unique combination of symptoms, medical history and lifestyle.  This helps him to make an accurate diagnosis of the causes of your pain or lack of function (rather than just addressing the site of the condition), and from that, to formulate a treatment plan that will achieve the best outcome.

Denis and Charlotte are our Physiotherapists and both treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions that include bone, muscle, nerve and ligament problems and include conditions such as back, neck and shoulder pain, knee and ankle problems and post-surgical rehabilitation.  They take account of your lifestyle, work, hobbies and sports in order to select an appropriate treatment plan and are experts in the delivery of patient focussed rehabilitation and exercise protocols to promote recovery and prevent recurrence and treatment includes education, self-management strategies including home exercises, as well as hands on manual therapy and taping techniques.

William is our Podiatrist and he treats conditions related to the foot, ankle, lower limb and its associated structures. He will look at the way in which the muscles, bones and joints of the feet and lower limb interact and move to assess their functionality in terms of impact absorption and propulsion. He will also assess the biomechanical function of the foot and lower limb and treat abnormalities and malfunction as part of a post injury or preventative rehabilitation programme. In addition, William can also treat more general foot complaints, such as corns, verrucae and fungal infections

Magnus, Annette and Nicola are our Sports massage therapists and all of them are experts in the use of massage to correct problems and imbalances in the soft tissues (skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, can also enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

Phil is our Strength and Conditioning specialist and he believes that a the goal of a good strength and conditioning programme might include improved performance, increased muscle mass and metabolism, faster recovery after injury, injury prevention or enhanced general health including stronger bones, improved posture and better balance. He uses endurance and resistance training, mobility, core stability, plyometrics, speed and agility and so much more depending on your individual needs whether you are an athlete or amateur, expert or just starting out.

Experience of injury during his teens and three sporty teenage children who have all suffered from injury in one way or another, combined with his seven years of experience working with the Tottenham Hotspur academy players has led David to develop a particular interest in adolescent sports injuries. Sports injuries in children are thankfully mostly minor and self-limiting but can affect bone growth and soft tissue development and they therefore require accurate diagnosis and careful management. David’s extensive experience in this field put him in an ideal position to provide this expertise.

Over the years David has treated a wide variety of singers, dancers, musicians and actors often referred by colleagues or fellow performers who have benefitted from his expertise. He has worked in the past as in-house Osteopath to both Chicago and Fosse in the West End where he was able to experience first hand the pressures and demands of a performing arts career and so is well positioned to help singers, dancers, musicians and actors with their injuries.

William and Denis both use Video gait analysis as part of their assessment protocols using the treadmills in the gym at Pools on the Park. Gait analysis is a procedure that provides them with biomechanical information about your running or walking mechanics as you transition through the gait cycle. This helps to establish whether your gait may be contributing to your injury and will inform the type exercises that will help your recovery or whether insole orthotics may be indicated.
